Boho queen, Stevie Nicks has a distinct style easily recognized by quite literally everyone. With flowing black layers, lacey ruffles and that famous top hat, Stevie Nicks’ witchy boho style became distinct as well as iconic. Decades later and many are still looking to Stevie for fashion inspiration. What better Halloween costume idea than to be the Gold Dust Woman herself who put bohemian fashion on the map.
Stevie Nicks clothing on stage resembled that of an elevated witch costume and I say that in the up most respectful way. As a member of Fleetwood Mac, she captivated the audience with her powerhouse voice and the ability to write a killer hit song.
In this post I decided to pull together 2 distinct look but have given many clothing and accessory options to achieve the look in the way you feel most comfortable. Since you’re looking for a Halloween costume, Stevie’s stage looks will be the most obvious way to go that will be obvious who you are. However, refer to my Steal the Look: Style Icon Stevie Nicks post if you’d like to channel or everyday style.

Stevie Nicks Costume #1:
When most people think of Stevie, they think of drapey layers of black lace with boho elements. This first look is an all black look. A great prop is her famous top hat and of course her tambourine!

Stevie Nicks Costume #2:
Stevie seemed to have a “white witch” look which became famous with the debut of her solo album, Bella Donna. As seen on the album cover, Stevie is in flowing white layers, platform boots and is holding a large white bird. This look is iconic Stevie and actually quite easy to pull off!

- White Cockatiel-I had to add the bird!

Stevie Nicks Makeup & Hair:
As you can see from the pictures, Stevie wore a heavy, smokey eye and dark lip with brown/copper undertones. To get Stevie’s look I would use a black eye shadow and smudge, smudge, smudge. She has a smokey, thick outline under her eyes that gradually sweeps upward giving her a cat eye look. False lashes are unnecessary. White, porcelain skin with a peach blush in the hollows of her cheeks rather than the apple seems to be her go to. Her eyebrows are kept thin and clean.
Stevie’s hair has always been shaggy with lots of light highlights. She typically has bushy bangs and a ton of volume. No curling iron or hot rollers required but you could use one to create a few random waves. The messier the better. In fact, I would air dry after applying moose and use a volumizing texture spray to add a little grit and oomph!
In some pictures her nais were painted red and seemed long and almond shaped.
I think these Stevie Nicks costume ideas are so fun and many of the items I listed can be reworn in your everyday life!
