In this post, we’ll explore the many different Camila Dunne outfits from the hit series, Daisy Jones and the Six. Camila’s style is bohemian yet structured with that oh so fabulous 70s style.
A few posts ago we explored the style of Daisy Jones from the hit TV series, Daisy Jones and the Six. If you’ve not seen the show, it’s based on the best-selling novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid and it’s about a band’s rise to fame in the 70s. If you’re like me and love the style of the 70s, the outfits from all the women in this show are amazing. I couldn’t just stop at Daisy Jones’ outfits. The character Camila Dunne is the girlfriend/wife/mother of the lead singer’s child. Arguable, she may have the better style than Daisy. In this post I’ve rounded up all the outfits of Camila Dunne I could find and pulled together pieces so you can make Camila’s retro 70s style your own.
Daisy Jones and the Six not only delivered an extremely entertaining visual interpretation of the book by Taylor Jenkins Reid, it gave us boho lovers a lot of inspiration for creating those incredible 70s looks. While the Prime Video hit focuses on Daisy Jones played by Riley Keough, Camila Dunne is equally boho friendly and fabulous. Camila Dunne, played by Camila Morrone is the wife of lead singer, Billy Dunne played by Sam Claflin. Camila embodies femininity and grace with a stylish flair that is back in style today.

Daisy Jones and the Six is about the Dunne brothers who are searching for band members to launch a successful music career. They pull together a group of musicians that include Karen Sirko played by Suki Waterhouse. Camila, a young photographer, meets Billy in the early stages of his musical career. He quickly becomes the love of her life. Billy and Camila marry after moving to California. Stardom doesn’t come quickly and their manager advises that they include singer songwriter Daisy. Daisy and Billy end up writing a hit song and the band is launched to super stardom. While Billy battles addiction and a love/hate relationship with Daisy, a complicated love triangle forms between Billy, Daisy and Camila. The book is loosely based on Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac.
Daisy Jones and The Six costume designer, Denise Wingate beautifully channeled the 70s through the four female leads, Daisy Jones, Camila Dunne, Karen Sirko and Daisy’s best friend, Simone Jackson. Many of the costumes were vintage pieces or handmade. Camila also wore pieces from Free People and Spell and the Gypsy.

Camila Dunne Style:
As Karen puts it in the novel: “She was no wallflower. You just had to be paying attention to see it.”
While Daisy Jones is the obvious star of the show, Camila’s character should not be overlooked. In fact, she’s definitely my favorite character on the tv show. Her outfits are every bit as unique, interesting and retro as Daisy’s. Camila’s character’s style seems to be based on the styles of actresses like Ali Macgraw, Sharon Tate and Bianca Jagger. Camila’s style is more structured and sophisticated where as Daisy’s style is pure bohemian. She dresses free of rules or boundaries and even sobriety. I’ve got to say, some of my best outfits have come after a drink or two! Camila’s looks involve long peasant dresses, structured midi skirts, knee high boots, delicate sweater tops and head scarves. As the show progresses, her style evolves into more of that decadent 70s look with furs and oversized sunglasses. And don’t forget that haltered silk leopard print dress! Camila is a character that is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. Most of the show she’s a mother and her style embodies that earth mother vibe if you know what I mean.
Camila Dunne Outfits:
Below I’ve rounded up the best Camile vibes on Amazon. Everything is affordable and while meant to be a 70s retro look is actually completely in style today.

- Fur Lined “Penny Lane” Coat-Camila famously wore this Penny Lane (Afghan) coat with a head scarf and oversized glasses. I have been on the hunt for a Penny Lane coat and found 2 on Shein this year. I bought THIS and THIS coat and I will say, the quality is iffy. The look and shape of both coats is awesome but the actual coat is a cheap microfiber material. However, I wear them proudly. I linked one that has gotten quite a lot of positive reviews and I’ve had my eye on it for a while. It’s also on sale!
- Silk Head Scarf-I love a head scarf. This one actually comes in a pack of 4 and they all have a really great retro vibe!
- Cream Peasant Dress-I own two of these long dresses. They can be dressed up with knee high boots and a coat or dressed down with sandals! I chose this dress in particular because the colors seem very Camila.
- Burgundy Knee High Boots-Don’t underestimate the power of a knee high boot. I think knee high boots bridge decades. They never go out of style and can up the retro vibes without looking like you’re taking the retro too far.
- Black Peasant Dress-Another long peasant dress that looks like something Camila would’ve worn.
- Brown Waist Belt-Camila wears a belt to cinch in her waist on more than one occasion. It’s a great look and can be very slenderizing.
- Brown Leather Saddle Bag-I love this saddlebag and while it’s a classic style bag, it definitely (like the knee high boot) has a retro feel without being over the top.
- Oversized Sunglasses-Camila wears similar glasses throughout the show. These glasses scream the 70s and I love them!
- Wooden Heel Leather Platform Sandal-I personally wear these sandals and can say they take a current outfit and give a small bit of 70s flair. They are comfortable and look great with so many different looks.
- Turtleneck Sweater-I included this sweater because this is the look where Camila wore the brown belt with a brown leather skirt and knee high boots. It’s a simple, classic look.
- Blue Peasant Top-Camila wore several peasant tops like this. I thought the colors were so good. I also found THIS one as well.
- Full Length Fur Lined Coat-This coat reminded me of the older version of Camila when paired with the oversized sunglasses and headscarf! I love this coat! Beware though-reviews aren’t great on this coat. Some like it, many don’t. It’s a gamble. However, it is $35 so that says a lot.
- Dark Denim Bell Bottoms-These are the cutest flair jeans with the belt tie. The dark denim is a bit retro and a tucked in shirt and wooden platform heels would capture Camila’s casual look to a T.
- Faux Leather Midi-Skirt-We saw this type of skirt from Camila several times. She wore it with knee high boots and typically a tucked in top or belted top. This skirt comes in several colors and definitely has a vintage vibe.
- Midi Jean Skirt-This jean skirt is right on trend at the moment and when worn with wooden platform sandals it effortlessly takes a 70s turn.
If you’ve not watched this incredible show, there are 10 episodes of Daisy Jones and the Six on Amazon Prime. I read the book after I watched the show but I wish I would’ve done it the other way around. I can’t speak to casting correctly from the book because the actors were already in my head but the series follows the book pretty accurately!
At the end of the series you’ll see a lot of ways to incorporate the 70s style today. I hope you’ve enjoyed recreating Camila Dunne outfits from Daisy Jones and the Six!
xx, Jenni
P.S. The dress below is a Free People dress no longer sold in stores. However, I did find it all over eBay. It is called the Bridgette Mini Dress in Berry. I linked a few in my Shop the Post carousel.
