My daughter’s bathroom was in desperate need of a refresh so I thought I’d share what I did because it turned out so well and the most invasive thing I did was paint the walls! Plus, it took 1 weekend and a gallon of paint! Why did I wait so long??!
I saw THIS shower curtain on Addison’s Wonderland blog and knew I wanted to plan the bathroom around it. I ended up painting the room a warm, taupe gray. The room has light wood cabinets that have a gray/white washed stain that ended up complimenting the walls perfectly. Adding brass accessories elevated the space. I also downloaded art from Etsy and upgraded the standard mirror with a gold framed one as well as updated the light fixture.
I couldn’t be happier with how the room turned out and ended up painting my utility room the same color. I added a new light fixture, updated the rug and hid the washer and dryer behind long velvet gray curtains!
Both rooms were painted in Grey Suit by Valspar.
What a shot in the arm these makeovers have been! I had held off on both of these rooms because I felt bigger changes needed to be made such as a change in tile and cabinets. Once I decided to work with what I had, I was free to do what was within reach. Now that I’ve made the changes, the cabinets and tile doesn’t bother me at all!
I’ve spent so much thought, time and money on bedrooms and living spaces that bathrooms and the utility room were in sad shape! With easy upgrades like rugs, shower curtains and art, these two rooms look pulled together. Not to mention a can paint made all the difference!
Next up? The master bath…. Stay tuned for that one!
