Christmas is around the corner and while I don’t decorate until Thanksgiving is done, I’ve been looking for inspiration on Pinterest and getting ideas of how I will decorate my home this year. I found a lot of really great Christmas decor ideas that I wanted to share!
I love Scandinavian Christmas decor so I added a lot of pictures from My Scandinavian Home. I just love how they decorate with real pine trees big and small. Simply digging up a pine roots and all and placing it in a jar is so festive and natural. I also am very inspired by nature and look for decor ideas where foraging is incorporated.
I think this year I may dry some oranges and make a garland as well as incorporate bells. Eucaplytus is also a nice alternative or additive to the traditional pine garland. Velvet ribbon and stars are also on my radar. I love the idea of hanging my favorite ornaments from garland placed around a window. Special ornaments can get lost in all the lights and trimmings of the tree. Displaying them elsewhere is a fun way to enjoy them and highlight them!
Paper star lanterns are a beautiful accent and another Scandinavian Christmas staple as well as homemade paper garland. I found untreated wood bead garland at Hobby Lobby that I’m excited to place in a window with some bells and am thinking of THIS star garland from Amazon.
I also love the idea of vintage gold candle holders with different colored tapers!
Like Halloween, I can’t stand cheesy and in order for me to keep Christmas decor up for over a month, it has to be subtle and understated. I hope you enjoy these unique decor ideas! I really tried to give each photo the credit it deserves but found so many good photos that had no origin that I could find.
