Growing up my mother had several Christmas albums that she’d always play around the holidays. They had classic songs from artists like Perry Como, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Julie Andrews, Jo Stafford and Andy Williams just to name a few. Those songs conjure up some of the most tangible memories of my childhood.
Every Christmas Eve my dad would take me to the Salvation Army to give to the needy and then we’d do all his shopping he’d leave to the very last second. I don’t remember particularly enjoying doing those things but now I cherish the memory dearly since he’s not with us anymore. I can clearly envision the silver tinsel on my grandmother’s tree and her records playing in her record console on Christmas Eve. Listening to these songs I can almost taste her cheese log and sausage balls.
I have those records in my collection today but I wanted to make a Spotify playlist so they’d all be in one place and easily playable. As I’m wrapping up my work for 2024, I thought I’d publish one last post and share with you this special playlist. I hope you like it and Merry Christmas!!
