Trend to Try: How to Style a Jumpsuit 4 Different Ways

Jumpsuits have turned into a huge trend that I have enjoyed embracing. Typically when you think of a jumpsuit, you get a more formal visual-like a one piece pants suit. This season, thanks to the Hot Shot Onesie from Free People, women are sporting this trend for the ultimate comfort. Whether you dress this season’s jumpsuits up or down, this look is worth trying!

Jumpsuits are easy to style and require the bare minimum of accessories if you prefer. For cooler weather, an oversized cardigan or jean jacket work well. You can add a long sleeved top underneath if you prefer to skip adding a layer.

As for shoes, tennis shoes work as do sandals and flip flops. Below I tried a pair of mules and they worked well.

Accessories can set the tone of the entire outfit. For a more “put together” look, opt for more. Long layered necklaces will take any outfit to the next level and statement earrings can elevate the look as well. I personally like to thoughtlessly pile on the bracelets for pops of color and a bit of whimsey and texture.

This $12 jumpsuit is more of an elevated look since it’s a bit of a shinier, less flimsy material. I paired it with an off the shoulder top and snakeskin mules so this look would easily be work appropriate. It’s comfortable yet doesn’t look lazy. You might remember this jumpsuit from my Shein haul Part 2.

I’m in a large and would say it runs TTS.

This Amazon jumpsuit is highly versatile. It is the softest material and can be worn with or without a top underneath. I decided to elevate it a bit with espadrilles and a cropped cardigan but most days I throw this jumpsuit on because it’s as comfortable as pajamas and helps beat the heat.

Oh and did I mention there are pockets?! It comes in a ton of colors and is TTS. I’m in a large.

This jumpsuit is also Amazon and a Free People Sun Drenched dupe. To be honest, I don’t feel my best in this one. The fabric is light and airy but I was hoping for a slouchier, more lived in vibe. I think for my body shape (rounder in the middle) the stiffer fabric paired with the pleats and large front pocket are adding a little bulk. Because of the overall shape of this jumpsuit, I don’t think I’d consider splurging for the real deal but I’ve loved it on other women.

It is a jumpsuit that needs a top underneath. It also comes in several colors and if you love the look but are worried about the cut, I would get a black one. I got a medium and am wondering if I had got my regular size (large) if it would give the slouchy look I was going for. I am 5’7 and definitely could use more length.

This jumpsuit is by far my favorite and is the Free People Hot Shot Onesie dupe from Amazon. I 100% plan to buy the Free People version because I ended up loving this look so much. I did not think I would which is why I tried the Amazon version first. The crotch hangs quite low and the pockets are very bulky but somehow this works on most body types. Plus, I can’t say enough about the comfort.

This jumpsuit requires a top underneath. You could possibly get away with a longer sports bra which would be great on warm days. I purchased this jumpsuit in medium and it’s perfect so I would suggest to size down.

Jumpsuits are in and I’m A-OK with it! I hope this trend sticks around for a while. Free People truly have the best with much better quality than Amazon. THIS jumpsuit is new and incredibly cute-it would be quite the splurge!

It will be fun to style jumpsuits for winter if they last! I have been living in the gray and olive green one!

xx, Jenni
