It’s time once again to decorate for the holidays and this year I’ve honed in on several decor ideas to incorporate in my decor this year. As per usual I’ve taken to Pinterest and Instagram to find the pictures that catch my eye and my heart. I’m definitely loving anything cozy and vintage. Warm twinkle lights, lots of pine (real and fake) and plush, droopy velvet ribbons are a must. I’ve paid attention to the viral cedar garland from Anthro and linked a good dupe according to my research. I also found tree lights that mimic the viral Home Depot tree. I fully intend on trying both options rather than buying the originals.
One trend I’m seeing and loving are paper chains. They are so nostalgic and a fun project to get the entire family involved in. Hobby Lobby has loads of thick paper options but I also like the idea of using felt. Felt would definitely be more sturdy and last for years to come.
I’ve also seen a lot of small Norfolk pine trees this year. I’d prefer to find a real tree but I found many fake trees on Amazon as well. These 3-4 foot trees are placed all throughout homes with a simple strand of lights. I’m seeing them in vintage pots or a simple clear vase. I do know pines indoors require a lot of water and dry out quickly. Once they dry, there’s no way to bring them back but I think I’m up for the challenge. Target just got a big shipment, fyi!
Another trend I like are clip on candles. These vintage looking candles typically take batteries and clip onto the branches of your Christmas tree. I found several sets on Amazon with a remote and a timer.
I hope you’ve found inspiration from my pictures I’ve shared! I’m almost ready to start decorating! How about you? Have you decorated yet?
