My Halloween Decor-2025

Sharing is caring!

This year’s Halloween decor included new ideas and items I’ve not used before. I, as usual, did include a lot of candles, my painting of Nosferatu (he’s a staple and the whole family asks for him) and a few vintage prints. I also added to my collection of bugs and butterflies. New additions are a mummy cat which one of my cats enjoys attacking daily but I got the idea and had to copy from THIS post. I also added to my rat collection and let them congregate in my baby grand. I brought in a dead tree and adorned it with moss and butterflies and utilized a lot of battery powered taper candles that can be put on a timer.

Each year I really try to be subtle with gothic touches here and there. I usually end up piling on the decor then editing quite a bit before I share. It’s so easy to make Halloween decor look cheap, you know?

I really love a retro vibe but I also am leaning more into moody and dark. I’m always working to make cheap look expensive so that can be a very tall order for decorating for Halloween! Honestly, I’ve taken so many pictures of my space and rearranged and worked on it so much this season that I don’t know if I accomplished anything but weird vibes. LOL.

If you like my vintage prints, I found them on Pinterest, downloaded them to my computer, scanned them on my printer at the highest quality and then had them printed at CVS. The girl holding the white cat over her face is called “Once Upon A White Night” by Massaki Miyazawa. You can view it HERE. I did not find a way to purchase a print without printing it myself. The blue photo with the girl and the candles is also a mystery. I could not find where this image originated. The moment I saw it, I fell in love with it.

Crows are always a great idea. They tend to be easier to class up when compared to skeletons and ghosts. Snakes are a favorite of mine, especially if I can put them in inconspicuous places.

This year I’ve discovered thrifting and FB Marketplace. It started with a need for more substantial furniture that I did not want to buy in a box and have to put together-Ha! Now it’s becoming a passion to find treasures. I’ve displayed many treasures and am  always on the hunt for those items that are so special you know you can’t live without them. This year I decorated with vintage Nancy Drew books, a couple of small brass bells, an old candelabra and a blue and white platter used to hold candles.

I’ve linked a few items I bought this year. Hope this has inspired someone and encouraged you to lean into the holidays! Decorating for Halloween doesn’t have to be hokey and classless. Subtly dark is the goal. I like a little cozy too-a few tweaks that will make me happy on the cooler, shorter days that lead to movie marathons by the glow of the fireplace (and candles) and a big furry blanket! A bowl of popcorn never hurt anyone either!

Happy Haunting, Jenni
